Virat Kohli Receives Ampere Primus Electric Scooter as Player of the Match
In the ongoing IPL season, Ampere, a subsidiary of Greaves Electric Mobility and the official EV partner of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), presented Virat Kohli with the Ampere Primus special edition as the Player of the Match award. As the IPL continues to capture the nation’s cricketing fever, Greaves Electric Mobility, headquartered in Bangalore, is one of the prominent sponsors of the event.
Ampere, under the umbrella of Greaves Electric Mobility, specializes in manufacturing electric scooters. The partnership with RCB led to Virat Kohli, the cricketing sensation, receiving the Ampere Primus as a unique recognition for his outstanding performance.
The official announcement was made by Greaves Electric Mobility on its social media platforms. The post reads, “Performance meets Performance. #HarGullyElectric meets #HarGulleCricket. Excited to announce King Kohli as the first Ampere Electrifying Player of the Match. Here is our CEO & ED, Sanjay Behl, handing over the limited edition RCB-themed Primus high-performance electric scooter.” The accompanying image depicts Virat Kohli accepting the keys to the electric scooter.
Ampere offers three electric scooter models: Zeal EX, Magnus EX, and Primus. The special edition presented to Virat Kohli was customized with the RCB theme, making it a one-of-a-kind scooter. It features a dual-tone matte finish, reverse mode, spacious legroom, LCD smart digital cluster, 22-liter storage space, Bluetooth connectivity, USB charging port, navigation assist, hydraulic telescopic front suspension, side stand sensor, LED headlamp, and more.
In terms of specifications, the Ampere Primus is equipped with a 3 kWh Lithium Ferro Phosphate battery powering a mid-mount PMS electric motor that produces 4 kW of peak power. This enables the scooter to accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 77 km/h. The ARAI-rated range on a single charge is 107 km. The scooter features drive modes, optional fast charging, alloy wheels, a kerb weight of 130 kg, and comes with a 3-year/30,000 km motor, battery, and vehicle warranty. The retail price for the Ampere Primus is Rs 1.10 lakh, ex-showroom.
