The Ather 450X sports a sleek design, shared with other 450-series scooters, boasting a sporty and aggressive style perfect for younger riders. Its modern appeal is enhanced by the LED headlight and turn indicators on the handlebar cowl, while the single-piece seat with rear grab-rail adds to its functionality and aesthetics

Visuals Of Ather 450S:
“The Ather 450S maintains its iconic design, staying true to its roots even as it’s positioned alongside higher-end models by the company. With its sleek and angular fascia, the scooter retains its distinctive look. The generously sized V-shaped headlamp adds a touch of premium feel to the overall appearance.”
The handlebar cover follows the sleek design theme with built-in turn indicators, seamlessly blending sharp lines into the overall look. When viewed from the side, the Ather S appears compact and stylish. The addition of subtle yet lively color accents on the seat frame and branding further elevate its cool factor. Moving to the rear, you’ll notice sharp lines and a sizable grab rail that adds a touch of robustness.
The Package:
The Ola 450S now features a new Deep view display for its instrument cluster, though it’s not as advanced as the full TFT color screen found in the 450X model. With a 7-inch screen size, it offers decent functionality, but with lower specs including an 800MHz processor, 8GB storage capacity, and 1GB RAM. Brightness adjustments have some limits as well. However, it’s still rated IP65, ensuring durability even in rainy weather.
The Ola 450S introduces a reverse switch for easy maneuvering. Its Pro variant offers features like hill hold and coasting regen, akin to the 450X, but lacks Warp mode. Modes include Smart Eco (90km range), Eco (85km), Ride (75km), and Sport (70km). Switchgear is comfortable and user-friendly.
Ride:
Ather scooters, including the 450S, are renowned for their agile handling and fun riding experience, ideal for city streets and even go-kart tracks. During tests in Bengaluru, the 450S showcased predictable handling, perfect for navigating tight traffic. The sporty suspension setup, particularly the rebound, adds to the thrill, with improved comfort when carrying a passenger.
The Ather 450S shows slight acceleration drop in Eco and Ride modes, but Sport mode offers thrilling rides for short commutes. The instrument cluster features a modern layout with intelligently chosen font colors, though detailed information may overwhelm some users. Turn-by-turn navigation couldn’t be tested due to access issues with the smartphone app.
The Ather 450S offers a great riding experience with excellent brakes and precise throttle calibration. While the Combined Braking System (CBS) performs well, adding ABS would enhance safety. Taller riders may find discomfort due to the scooter’s design, especially with the leaning side stand and limited legroom, impacting maneuverability.
Should You Buy It:
The Ather 450S mirrors styling and performance of the 450X with decent features and a functional instrument cluster. Its sporty ride and quality parts impress. With good luggage space, it’s practical too. Priced at Rs. 1.29 lakh, it’s a solid choice, though for a bit more, the 450X offers enhanced features.
